Release context
Dimension 005 was compiled by Alpha Portal while Astrix and Ace Ventura were developing the project toward a debut album. The 2019 Shamanic Tales compilation mixed Alpha Portal tracks with music from artists including Tristan, GMS, Burn in Noise, Braincell, Outsiders and Electric Universe.
Its role is therefore broader than a DJ compilation carrying a famous name. The track selection was used to define what Alpha Portal meant by high-intensity psychedelic trance at that point in the project, placing their own work inside a wider circle of compatible producers.
