What defined Tantrumm Records

Tantrumm Records emerged in 2006 as an international New York–Bombay label and publicly launched alongside OSOM Music through the joint compilation Peace For The Wicked. Its surviving history is fragmentary, and No label website is known.

The label is notable for its explicit New York–Bombay international framing at a time when dark underground Psytrance networks were becoming increasingly transcontinental.

How Tantrumm Records developed

A July 2006 announcement calls Tantrumm Records a new-born international label based in New York and Bombay and introduces its collaboration with OSOM Music. Orestis later released Recursive Consciousness through Tantrumm, but his own current website contains a date conflict: the biography says September 2010 while the discography page lists 2008. Tantrumm-labelled compilation material continued into the 2010s.

People, organisation & management

The founder, owner and manager identities remain unclear. Its launch relationship with OSOM was cooperative , not an ownership, parent or permanent-partnership arrangement.

Sound, roster & A&R direction

Tantrumm operated in underground Psytrance with a strong darker/high-intensity tendency. Psytrance is core and Darkpsy is a significant strand; Hi-Tech is not assigned as a permanent label identity solely from later artist/release associations.

Place in psytrance history

The label is notable for its explicit New York–Bombay international framing at a time when dark underground Psytrance networks were becoming increasingly transcontinental.

Scene impact & cultural reach

Its launch with OSOM demonstrates cross-scene collaboration between Russian-linked, Indian and North American psychedelic networks , not a conventional single-city label model.

Key releases & catalogue moments

Peace For The Wicked joint OSOM/Tantrumm launch-era compilation (2006); later VA Realization-era releases in the 2010s.

Artists connected to the label

Orestis

Athens producer whose atmospheric, story-driven night-time psytrance became closely associated with the Greek deep-psy underground and the Sonic Loom collective.

Psykovsky

Russian producer Vasily Markelov, a singular figure in high-speed psychedelic trance whose long-form, polyrhythmic and compositionally eccentric work helped define the hi-tech underground.
