What defined Maharetta Records

Maharetta Records grew out of the Spanish psychedelic-trance scene in 2010 with a simple aim: give new local producers a serious platform and help strong music travel beyond a relatively small domestic scene. What began with that local focus developed into an international label whose catalogue now brings together artists from Europe, Latin America, Asia and elsewhere.

The label has kept a clear dance-floor identity while broadening its roster. Full-on psytrance remains central, but the releases move across melodic, driving and more psychedelic forms instead of staying inside one rigid formula.

How Maharetta Records developed

The idea for Maharetta was formed during the 2010 festival season. Its early development was closely tied to Spain's growing psytrance network, and the label gradually moved from supporting home-grown artists into a wider international programme. Releases by projects such as Hypnoise, Amplify, Morsei, Alternate Side and many others helped establish the catalogue well beyond its original national focus.

By the mid-2020s Maharetta had become a long-running digital-era psytrance label with an active website, artist roster and steady release schedule. New singles, EPs and compilations were still appearing throughout 2026.

People, organisation & management

Maharetta operates as an independent label with artist development and label management embedded in the scene itself. Hypnoise and Amplify have both been closely involved with its management, while the wider roster reflects the label's shift from a Spanish base toward a genuinely international network.

Sound, roster & A&R direction

Maharetta is rooted in modern psychedelic trance, especially full-on and groove-led festival psytrance. Its releases favour clear dance-floor momentum, detailed psychedelic production and a broad enough range to include darker, more melodic and more progressive edges without losing the label's core full-power identity.

Place in psytrance history

Maharetta is a good example of the generation of 2010s psytrance labels that grew from local scenes but quickly became international through digital distribution, touring networks and artist collaboration. Its longevity has also made it one of the more durable Spanish-connected imprints from that period.

Scene impact & cultural reach

The label helped strengthen Spain's place in the international psytrance circuit while continuing to sign and promote artists from far beyond Spain. Its roster shows how modern psytrance labels increasingly function as cross-border communities , not purely national operations.

Key releases & catalogue moments

Key phases include the 2010 foundation, early releases from emerging Spanish-linked projects, the rise of Hypnoise and Amplify as defining names around the label, the continuing Spirit Of Sound compilation series and a sustained stream of new releases through 2026.
