Biography
BLT was the original major psytrance project of Yuli Fershtat, the Moscow-born Israeli producer who later became internationally known as Perfect Stranger. Active from the late 1990s into the mid-2000s, BLT belongs to the formative period in which Israeli psychedelic trance was moving beyond classic Goa structures toward tighter grooves, progressive pacing and the more streamlined production language that would dominate the next decade.
Fershtat built a substantial catalogue under the name, including the albums Alchemic Anecdote in 1999, Presence in 2000 and God Is Love in 2002. The records trace a clear evolution: early material is rooted more directly in the psychedelic trance of the period, while later BLT increasingly emphasises slower development, groove and the progressive sensibility that would become central to Fershtat's next project. BLT therefore functions as more than a discarded alias; it documents the musical transition that led to Perfect Stranger.
Fershtat ended BLT as his main production identity around 2005 and launched Perfect Stranger soon afterwards, partly to pursue slower and more genre-crossing music. BLT has occasionally returned through retrospective sets, remixes and release activity, but it is best understood today as a historical project. BLT shows how one of Progressive Psytrance's distinctive voices emerged from the late-1990s Israeli scene.
