Release context
Zen Mechanics is Wouter Thomassen's Dutch psytrance project. The project became known for a highly polished melodic sound and for collaborations that linked the European progressive and full-on scenes during the late 2000s and early 2010s.
Holy Cities is the earliest Zen Mechanics release currently represented in the ViralFlowMusic catalogue, preceding Re:Modified (2011). That makes it a useful starting point for hearing the ideas the project would develop more fully on the releases that followed.
