Release context
X-Dream's Marcus Maichel and Jan Müller began working together at the end of the 1980s and first recorded under the name in 1991. Their catalogue moved from early Goa trance into darker, more technological forms of psychedelic music, and Gravity Plus has since become the main home for reissues, remixes and archival material.
This compilation condenses the first decade of X-Dream into a single retrospective span, covering the period in which the project moved from early Goa trance into a darker and more technological sound. Its value is historical rather than simply promotional, because that stylistic shift became one of X-Dream's defining contributions to psychedelic trance.
