Release context
*Cultivation of the senses* is a 2020 collaboration between Orestis and Sator Arepo, written at 155 BPM. It continues the darker, highly detailed style Orestis had been developing since the mid-2000s, but the shared credit gives the track a different balance from his solo material.
The release sits in a later phase of the catalogue where Orestis was still collaborating regularly rather than settling into a purely solo format. That continuity matters: the project had long used collaboration as a way of expanding its atmospheric and percussive language.
