Release context
*Patterns* is Earthling’s debut album, released through Acidance Records in 2002. Celli had already been deeply involved in Ibiza’s psychedelic scene since the early 1990s, organising outdoor parties and working in projects such as Soundaholix and Vatos Locos before establishing Earthling as his solo identity.
That history gives the album a different weight from a typical debut. *Patterns* is the first Earthling full-length, but not the work of a newcomer to the culture around the music. The record carries the influence of years spent inside Ibiza’s trance community and turns that experience into a clearly defined solo project.
