Release context
Rite of Passage comes from Blissed, the early project involving Tsuyoshi Suzuki, Nick Taylor and Takehiro Tokuda. Released in 1993, it predates both Taiyo and Prana and belongs to the period when the musicians were still finding the direction that would soon feed into the first international Goa-trance network.
That makes the release particularly useful as historical context. Blissed is not simply an obscure alias attached to later famous names; it documents the stage before Suzuki and Taylor moved into the more explicitly Goa-oriented Taiyo and Prana projects, while Matsuri and the wider London-Tokyo trance connection were still taking shape.
