What defined IbogaTech
IbogaTech is the techno-focused sister imprint of Denmark’s Iboga Records. It provides a separate home for artists from the psychedelic scene who work with slower, club-oriented forms of techno, progressive electronic music and what is often described as psy-tech.
The separation matters. IbogaTech shares artists, aesthetics and audiences with psytrance, but its catalogue is designed around techno instead of simply functioning as another section of the main Iboga Records release schedule.
How IbogaTech developed
IbogaTech developed during the 2010s as the crossover between psytrance and underground techno became increasingly visible. Producers connected to the wider Iboga network were already exploring lower tempos and techno structures, and the imprint gave that material a clearer identity of its own.
Its catalogue has since grown through releases by artists such as MVMB, Martin Vice, Jossie Telch and other producers moving between psychedelic and techno scenes.
People, organisation & management
IbogaTech is part of the Iboga Records family , not an unrelated independent company. Its organisational role is primarily curatorial: it separates techno and psy-tech material from Iboga’s core psychedelic-trance catalogue while retaining the wider label network around it.
Sound, roster & A&R direction
Psychedelic techno, progressive techno and minimal club music are central. The production often carries the detailed sound design and atmosphere associated with psytrance, but the tempos and structures sit much more naturally in techno.
Place in psytrance history
IbogaTech is a useful marker of how porous the border between psytrance and techno became during the 2010s and 2020s. By giving that crossover a dedicated imprint, Iboga could support experimentation without blurring the sound of its main label.

Key releases & catalogue moments
Recurring releases by MVMB and other Iboga-linked producers helped establish the imprint’s sound, followed by a continuing stream of progressive and psychedelic techno through the 2020s.
