The story behind Ibojima

Ibojima is a Swedish psychedelic-trance project associated with Mathias Andersson. The early duo paired Andersson with Magnus Holte and released Morning Glory, followed by the Yellow Sunshine Explosion album in 2006. Olle Thulin joined in summer 2007 and later formed the project’s principal lineup with Andersson.

Andersson also worked through the separate Jetlag project and DuoTekk with Jonas Pettersson. Ibojima’s second full-length, Analog Superhero, appeared in 2011. A third album was discussed later but did not develop into a clear release cycle; current project status is unclear. Ibojima is part of the mid-2000s Swedish Psytrance/progressive network and illustrates how Scandinavian projects frequently changed personnel while maintaining a project identity.

No Ibojima-specific release or performance has surfaced for 2026. The project’s current status remains unresolved.
