The story behind Diablo
Diablo was the late-1990s Israeli trance project of Avihen Livne and Benny Risher. The pair worked together for roughly a year and released the album Insufficient Memory in 1999. Livne then moved on to solo production, developing the Cosma identity that became his best-known work.
Diablo therefore belongs in Cosma’s prehistory, but it has its own duo lineup and album and should not be collapsed into the later solo project. Diablo marks Avihen Livne’s pre-Cosma development and is significant as a complete earlier duo project instead of merely an alias attached retrospectively to Cosma.
Historical project; activity was concentrated around 1998–1999. Direct predecessor in Avihen Livne’s career before Cosma; Benny Risher was the project’s other member.
